Globalism has benefitted us enormously! Ever since we established the Bretton Woods system in 1944, we we have significantly boosted the US economy by making the dollar the world's reserve currency and facilitating a stable global trade environment. This all contributed to unprecedented economic growth and prosperity.

Globalism = more prosperity

Nationalism = more stagnation, less innovation, less culture

Globalism only benefits bankers and corporations. Fortunately for the world the U.S. and EU neoliberal projects are in inexorable decline. Your time is over regardless what Trump does or doesn’t do.

Those are the kind of detached-from-reality talking points that convinced the UK to do Brexit. And how well has that turned out for them? (Not good.)

Neoliberalism made Britain a fourth-rate country long before Brexit. Thatcher and Blair turned the country into a declining, dysfunctional, dump. Neoliberalism is not ‘futurism’ but 19th century robber baron style plutocracy.

Globalism subverts communities and is only economically beneficial to a parasitic and non- productive ‘elite’ investor class. It does not prevent wars or conflicts but quite the contrary. Globalist economic, social, and immigration policies have disproportionately affected middle and working classes adversely while concentrating wealth in the hands of wealthy elites and corporations.

I just ran our disagreement through ChatGPT and asked for a summary of the pros and cons of nationalism vs. globalism. I do see why people are attracted to the pros of nationalism but OMG I want the benefits of globalism all day long.

- Nationalism can boost pride and economic resilience but often leads to conflict, exclusion, and reduced innovation if taken to extremes.

- Globalism generally promotes wealth and technological progress but can erode local cultures, increase inequality, and diminish local governance.
